Timberwolves\u2019 Barea suffered a left foot injury on November 7th, 2012, during a game against the Orlando Magic and was immediately escorted to the locker room. Upon further examination by local doctors, they announced the injury released a very rare infection that could possibly kill it\u2019s victim if not stopped in time. Fortunately for Barea\u2019s life, local staff amputated his left leg, knee down, on the spot, which prevented the catastrophe.<\/p>\n
After surgery, Barea commented before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment. \u201cI can still play,\u201d he told reporters, \u201cThe team desperately needs me.\u201d<\/p>\n
