FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — On Wednesday evening, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady welcomed his second child with wife Gisele Bundchen, a daughter named Vivian Lake. Initially there were no complications, however due to unreleased health issues related to the birth, Gisele was readmitted to the hospital Monday morning. Tom has left the team to be with Gisele and their daughter, and has been ruled out for tonights showdown with the Texans.
As of Saturday, Belichick’s comments confirmed that there were no issues at that time. “He was like an hour late coming in the day after it, but otherwise good,” Belichick said on Saturday. “We met yesterday. I think he’s right on top of everything like he usually is as far as preparation. We met and we went over their scheme and their players and adjustments and things we expect them to do and so forth. He seemed right on top of it to me like he usually does.”
On Friday, defensive end Rob Ninkovich expressed the same sentiment as his head coach.
“I think Tom is all business,” he said. “He’s in here, working hard and focused in on what we have to do.”
Ninkovich added with a smile, “In 16 years, he’s going to have his hands full with a little girl trying to drive a car around and boys chasing her.”
With the Patriots in firm control of the AFC East a loss would not be catastrophic, and as always, family comes first for Tom.
