In a surprisingly swift move, the NY Red Bulls will announce tomorrow the signing of Gary McAllister, former Leeds skipper and Aston Villa assistant, as their new head coach. Recently appointed Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh wasted no time in replacing Hans Backe. The Scotsman was frank in his assessment of expectations, “This club, this team, these supporters have suffered long enough. I’ve been clear to Gary, anything short of the MLS Supporters Cup in unnacceptable”.
Terms of the deal including length are expected to be released tomorrow at a 2pm press conference to be held at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
