Knicks star Carmelo Anthony was involved in a late-night strip club melee on Tuesday evening on the West Side of Manhattan, which resulted in a pulled groin, witnesses say, when he tried to “dropkick” a patron who was taunting him.

The patron in question, whose name wasn’t released, was said to have called Anthony “pudgy” and a “softy” who “doesn’t play hard”.

“Big’em Titties”, the gentleman’s club where the ruckus occurred, did not make any employees available for questions by the media, nor has the NYPD made any press releases regarding the situation, although they are “looking into it”, as alluded to by Sargeant Patrick Bateman of the 16th precinct.

The Knicks have not yet responded in full to inquiries made about the occurrence, or about Anthony’s ill-timed injury, although owner James Dolan did mention that ‘Melo is “recovering” at New York Presbyterian Hospital and will hopefully be back by January if all tests indicate he can play without pain.
